Position Overview

We are seeking knowledgeable and customer-oriented full-time and part-time Budtenders to join our team. An ideal candidate has extensive cannabis product knowledge, customer service experience, and enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment.

Budtenders provide friendly and helpful customer service, guiding customers to the best cannabis products to fit their unique needs. While doing so, a Budtender must maintain compliance with all cannabis retail regulations and keep the sales floor clean and orderly.

As a Budtender, you are on the front lines of creating an exceptional customer experience through product education and recommendations, a pleasant and friendly demeanor, and focus on the customer's needs. You are responsible for promoting a work environment that is positive, fun, productive, and rewarding for both the team and customers.

Cannabis industry experience is preferred, but not required.

Major Areas of Responsibility

• Provide quality customer service that encourages customer loyalty.
• Educate customers and politely handle their questions, concerns, and complaints.
• Operate point-of-sale software to complete sales.
• Handle cash, debit, and ACH payments.
• Assist with opening and closing standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain the sales floor, including restocking merchandise and cleaning/organizing displays.
• Meet sales quotas.

Customer Service

• Quickly greet and assist all customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude toward all customers; practice exceptional customer service at all times.
• Assist customers with requests in-store and on the phone as necessary.
• Treat all customers and co-workers with dignity and respect.
• Strong attention to detail and a team-player attitude is a must.
• Verify customer identification to ensure every customer is legally able to shop.
• Be well versed in products, in-store selections, promotions, and specials to assist with upselling opportunities.
• Assist in maintenance of the sales floor and back-of-house so the store is clean, tidy, organized, and well-stocked.
• Cultivate long-term customer relationships.

Cash Handling & Point of Sale

• Accurately manage and maintain a cash drawer, ensuring all transactions are accounted for.
• Verify bills using provided tools to ensure counterfeit tender is not accepted.
• Accurately create/update customer profiles and complete purchases within the POS system.
• Abide by all company policies and procedures as well as compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver's license or state ID.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience in retail, restaurant, or hospitality.
• Knowledgeable of cannabis basics including products, strains, and consumption methods.
• Friendly, personable, and service-oriented.
• Reliable, punctual, dependable, and trustworthy.
• Ability to sell effectively and provide outstanding customer service.
• Passionate about learning and staying current on cannabis products and trends.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Must pass all required background checks.

Work Experience

• Previous retail or service industry experience including face-to-face customer service or cash handling is preferred, but not required.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Basic computer software skills and some comfort with Point-of-Sale systems.

Working Conditions

• This position requires being on your feet for extended periods in a fast-paced environment.
• Schedule will vary and can include nights, weekends, and holidays.
• A neat, well-groomed appearance and adherence to the company dress code is required.
