Our commitment

Levitated Dispensaries is committed to making our website and our store usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and we treat accessibility as ongoing work rather than a box to check.

Conformance status

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means most of the site meets the standard, but some parts — described under Known limitations below — do not yet fully meet it. We use this wording deliberately: we would rather tell you exactly where the gaps are than claim a clean bill of health.

What we have done

• Semantic HTML5 structure throughout the site, with a single <main> landmark per page
• A skip-to-content link as the first focusable element on every page
• ARIA landmarks for header, navigation, main content, and footer
• Color contrast meeting WCAG 2.1 AA for body text, muted text, and interface components, verified with a contrast checker rather than by eye
• Descriptive alt text on content images; images that carry no information use an empty alt attribute so screen readers skip them
• Full keyboard navigation, with a visible :focus-visible indicator on links, buttons, and form fields
• An age-gate modal with managed focus, a labelled dialog, and no keyboard trap
• Form fields with associated <label> elements, required-field indicators, and error messages announced to assistive technology
• Embedded maps given descriptive titles, with the same address and directions available as plain text nearby
• A responsive layout that supports text resizing and browser zoom to 200% without loss of content or function
• A declared page language (lang="en") so screen readers use the correct pronunciation
• No content that flashes more than three times per second

Known limitations

We are aware of the following and are working on them. If any of these get in your way, contact us and a person will help you directly.

• Online ordering menu. Our shopping menu is provided by Flowhub on a separate platform we do not build or control, so we cannot guarantee its accessibility. We have asked Flowhub for their current conformance documentation. In the meantime, you can place any order by phone at 612-437-4420 or in person, and our staff will walk you through the full menu, including current pricing and potency.
• Live chat widget. The support chat in the corner of the page is a third-party product. Its keyboard and screen-reader behavior is outside our control. Email info@levitateddisp.com or call us for the same help, and you will reach the same team.
• Embedded maps. The interactive Google Maps embeds on our Visit and Delivery pages are difficult to use with a keyboard or screen reader. This is a limitation of the map product itself. Our full address, cross streets, parking details, and hours appear as ordinary text on the same pages, and we will give directions over the phone.
• Blog images. Article feature images come from our blog platform and currently carry no text description, and alt text on images inside posts depends on what the author entered. We are adding descriptions to existing posts and have made alt text a required step when publishing.
• Reduced motion. A few custom hover and card transitions do not yet respond to the "reduce motion" setting in your operating system. None of them move large areas of the screen or repeat, and we are adding proper prefers-reduced-motion support.

How we assess this site

We evaluate accessibility by self-assessment. That includes automated scanning with axe DevTools, manual keyboard-only walkthroughs of every page template, screen-reader spot checks, contrast measurement of our color palette, and testing the site at 200% zoom and at mobile widths. We have not yet commissioned an independent third-party audit; if we do, we will say so here and publish the date. We review this statement at least once a year and whenever we make a significant change to the site.

Technical requirements

Accessibility of this site relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WAI-ARIA. JavaScript is required for the age gate, the mobile navigation menu, and the newsletter form. If JavaScript is turned off, core page content remains readable, but those features will not work.

Assistive technology compatibility

We build and test this site to work with:

• Screen readers: NVDA with Firefox and JAWS with Chrome on Windows, VoiceOver with Safari on macOS and iOS, and TalkBack on Android
• Keyboard-only navigation, with no mouse required
• Operating-system high-contrast and dark modes
• Browser zoom and text scaling to 200%

If you use a tool that is not on this list and something does not work, we would genuinely like to hear about it.

In-store accessibility

Our store at 4145 Hiawatha Ave in Minneapolis has a free off-street parking lot with plenty of room and bike racks out front. Service animals are welcome. If you have a question about getting into or around our space, call or email us before your visit and we will tell you exactly what to expect.

If you need something specific to shop comfortably — help reading labels or menu boards, a staff member to bring products to you, extra time at checkout, written information in a larger format, or assistance getting from the lot to the door — just ask. You can email info@levitateddisp.com or call 612-437-4420 ahead of your visit and we will have someone ready, or simply ask any team member when you arrive. You never need to explain why. If you would like any information from this website — product details, our policies, current pricing, or educational material — in another format such as large print, plain text, or read aloud over the phone, contact us and we will provide it at no charge.
