First-Time Visitor Guide

Everything you need to know before walking through our door

Welcome. Whether this is your first time at a dispensary or your first time using cannabis at all, this guide will walk you through exactly what to expect. There are no dumb questions — our budtenders are here to help, not to judge.

Before you arrive

1

Bring a valid photo ID

You must have a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID proving you are 21 or older. We ID every customer, every time. We accept: driver's license, state ID, U.S. passport or passport card, military ID. Expired IDs are not accepted — even if your birthday is visible.

2

Bring cash or a debit card

In store, we accept cash and debit card (there's an ATM on-site if needed). Online pickup orders are paid at checkout by ACH or debit card. Credit cards are not accepted in either case, due to banking restrictions on cannabis businesses.

3

Optional: browse the menu ahead of time

Check our online menu before you come in. It helps to have a general sense of what category you're interested in (flower, edibles, vapes, etc.), but it's absolutely fine to walk in with no idea — that's what our team is for.

What to expect in store

4

ID check at the door

When you arrive, a staff member will check your ID. This is required by law — everyone gets carded. It takes about 30 seconds.

5

Talk to a budtender

Our budtenders are knowledgeable staff trained to help you find the right product. Don't be shy — telling them "this is my first time" is the most useful thing you can say. They'll ask a few questions to understand what you're looking for.

6

Browse and ask questions

Take your time. Ask to see products. Ask about THC percentage, terpenes, flavor, effect. There's no pressure to decide quickly. A good budtender will give you honest answers, not just push the most expensive option.

7

Checkout

Pay with cash or debit in store (online pickup orders are paid at checkout by ACH or debit), receive your products in their original child-resistant packaging, and you're done. Minnesota law requires products to stay in their sealed packaging while being transported in a vehicle.

What to tell your budtender

The more context you give, the better recommendation you'll get. Consider sharing:

  • "This is my first time" — sets the right expectations immediately
  • Your goal — relax, sleep, social, pain relief, creativity, etc.
  • Your preference for method — "I don't want to smoke," "I want something discreet," "I've tried edibles before"
  • Any anxiety about cannabis — if you're prone to anxiety, say so. High-THC products aren't for everyone and we'll steer you accordingly.
  • Your budget — there's no embarrassment in having a price limit

First-time product recommendations

🍬 Low-dose edible

2.5–5 mg THC. Longest onset (wait 2 hours), longest duration. Great for first-timers who want a controlled, smokeless experience.

🌿 Low-THC flower or pre-roll

Under 15% THC. Faster onset makes it easier to gauge your response in real time. One puff, wait 15 minutes.

💨 Low-dose vape

One small inhalation, wait 10–15 minutes. Portable and discreet, with faster feedback than edibles.

💧 High-CBD tincture

High CBD:THC ratio. Non-intoxicating or very mildly so. Good for consumers wanting to explore with minimal psychoactive effect.

After your visit: the golden rules

  • Start low, go slow. Your first session is not the time to over-consume.
  • Don't drive. Plan your transportation before you consume.
  • Don't mix with alcohol — especially for your first time. The combination amplifies effects unpredictably.
  • Set and setting matter. A comfortable, familiar environment with people you trust makes for a better first experience.
  • Have water nearby. Cannabis commonly causes dry mouth.
  • If you feel overwhelmed: Find somewhere calm, drink water, breathe. The feeling will pass. It is not physically dangerous.
