Bancroft is bounded by 38th Street, 42nd Street, Chicago Avenue and Cedar Avenue. That southern edge matters here, because 42nd Street runs east from Bancroft to Hiawatha Avenue and ends up almost at our door at 4145 Hiawatha Ave.
Getting here from Bancroft
By car
Take 42nd Street east. From Cedar Avenue it’s a little under a mile to Hiawatha Avenue; from Chicago Avenue, about a mile and a half. Cross Hiawatha at the signal and we’re just north of the intersection. If you’re starting on the north side of Bancroft, 38th Street east to Hiawatha and four blocks south is the alternative. Parking in our lot is free.
By transit
The nearest Blue Line stop is 38th Street Station, reached by crosstown bus on 38th Street. From the station the store is about half a mile south. Metro Transit’s trip planner will show whether a bus along 42nd Street serves your block more directly.
By bike
42nd Street is a direct ride east with one major crossing at Hiawatha Avenue, where there’s a signal. Bike racks are out front.
East on 42nd
Bancroft is a compact residential neighborhood named for its elementary school, with four of South Minneapolis’s main streets as its edges.
Nearly every route from Bancroft to Levitated is a single street followed by a single crossing, so it’s an easy one to make on the way home from somewhere else.
